We set up a fictitious story dating back to the times, as it is located at just in front of the Tokyo Tower and accidentally the building was completed at the same year as the Tokyo Tower opening. “The hotel TANGO was opened in 1959 the year after the completion of Tokyo Tower. The hotel lounge was in great bustle as Montmartre’s cabaret in Paris, and artists, actors and business people paid frequent visit. On the other hand, little public knew about it. The place was always the hub of the neighborhood as the social gathering place in trend gaining great support with the times. However, in 1979, 20 years after the opening, it was suddenly closed at the peak of popularity. Even now, more than 30 years since the close, TANGO has been handed down as a legendary hotel. Contrary to the glory, the interior had been neglected and the time had passed. However, the renewal open was decided miraculously. The new name is “TERRACE DINING TANGO”. The interior design was limited to partial change, not to renew and to keep the shadow of former hotel as possible to recreate the enthusiasm at that time. The atmosphere as if you went back to the past with a time machine. The enthusiasm in Showa was revived at the foot of Tokyo Tower.” With this concept story, the design was created incorporating the image of the good old Tokyo.
