The French restaurant advocating gastronomy was planned in Hiroo, Shibuya-ku in Tokyo.
In the store where tiles, mortars and materials such as wood are unified in gray color tones, there are an open counters with 13 seats, 6 semi-private rooms, and 4 private rooms with open kitchen views.
The floor height of the open counter was raised about 300mm to balance eye levels of guests and staff standing in the open kitchen. However, the floor height of this building was not high. If the floor was raised and the ceiling was set horizontally under the beam, a sufficient ceiling height could not be achieved. By arranging the ceiling with various color tones and inclinations, the beam becomes the lowest and gets covered. With this arrangement, the necessary height for the restaurant is secured.
