“Share hotel where Nagaya and hotel facilities are superimposed”
This hotel is converted from an office building which was completed 32 years ago.
In planning the composition of the common space and the guest room floor, I got an inspiration from the composition and essence of traditional “Nagaya” style in Kyoto; store, kitchen, inner courtyard and back factors. I attempted to superimpose the public and private areas involved in Nagaya’s concept with the facility which can be said to be the essence of the share hotel.
In considering plan composition and design, I made use of the atmosphere of the city of Kyoto Marutamachi, not stereotyped Japanese style or Japanese modern design trend. Based on the theme of “COZY Kyoto”, I created functional design, giving a softness, volume, and color to the space.
In an overall design, all the center of gravity is set to be somewhat lower to create Japanese seat space and induce relaxed communication in the room. (Ryo Takarada / the range design)
