Round house

This residence has a sense of depth in a dramatic and naturally spacious location.

As one looks across the structure, it transitions from a “space for people to gather” with a gentle, round-motif, to “individual space (Japanese-style room)” decorated with Japanese washi. There are many ways to enjoy the space, such as spending time on the café terrace on the riverside, using the golf room with family, drinking wine at the kitchen counter…

The design separates the residential space from the office built next door while also incorporating techniques to “vary degrees of closeness.”

One can easily imagine scenes where family and visitors casually connect on the property.

Since 2004, I have cooperated in disseminating the technology of "disaster prevention town development" as a lecturer and counselor by answering to various anxieties and questions for earthquake resistance in plain words. In
2007, I transformed a 400-year-old traditional Japanese building to a local after-school.
Utilizing the "consensus building method" learnt in the above described cases, sharing designs and opinions with clients in a plain manner, I work on spacial design that can be used for commercial and welfare activities as well as housing.
